The Golden Pig Food & Wine School opened in 2012, however you might have missed it tucked away in the backstreets of Newstead.  The Golden Pig Food and Wine School is owned by Katrina and Mark Ryan who between them have a wealth of knowledge in the hospitality, restaurant and design industries and have worked alongside renowned chefs such as Neil Perry and trained the likes of Kylie Kwong. As you might have imagined they specialise in cooking classes and also have a gorgeous cafe serving up the neighbourhood’s best coffee and lunch options.

This month, the team at Golden Pig have joined forces with chef Javier Codina from Moda Restaurant and John Susman from Fishtales, to bring Brisbane a PIG & PAELLA event – celebrating fresh seasonal produce and stunning wines, on Saturday 21st of May, from 1pm to 4pm.This team of talented chefs will be creating a magnificent seafood paella with some of Australia’s best produce – featuring Cloudy Bay Clams, Kinkawooka mussels, Pacific Reef Cobia and Skull Island prawns.

Also on the menu is a whole pig on the spit and accompanying Spanish-inspired side dishes.

Brett Green from Bacchus Wine Merchant will be presenting guests with a beautiful range of Casa Lluch wines from Valencia to enjoy throughout the afternoon.

This is the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon, enjoying a glass of wine (or a few!) with friends, eating your way through the culinary tastes of Spain…. all in our own backyard!The cost of the afternoon is $95 and includes food and wine.
