Once upon a time, in a place far far away from Japan… in the hub of East Brisbane…Sushi Kotobuki was born.
It was then a small hole in the wall that was only attended by a couple of locals – it wasn’t busy at all, but it was ALWAYS fresh. That was their key to success from the very beginning of this SUSHI fairytale. Since 2008, Brisbane’s southside has been served the finest of Japanese food, at unbeatable prices from one hardworking couple (and their lovely staff). Sushi Kotobuki has expanded even further than their East Brisbane store and opened a new one, Izakaya Kotobuki on Albert Street in Brisbane’s CBD. Kotobuki is now alive.
Being a lover of the Japanese cuisine myself…it has been a mission and half to find the perfect spot for traditional Japanese food, (with a bit more chicken and a little less raw fish) … in Brisbane. Sorry seafood lovers, had to say it. But don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of fish to go around. Melbourne and Sydney had nailed the sushi scene…it might have taken us a couple of extra years, but, let me tell you Brisbane, Kotobuki is the ducks nuts.
The line can be a ‘situation’, so be tactical guys, it is and has been for a while…the place to be for Crunch Chicken and #japanesemayo. Obviously….don’t trust my word for it, you’re going to have to go there and try it for yourself – who am I if not Kotobuki’s number one fan girl.
