Hair trends with Fadi Haddad

Ladies, have I got news for you! Natural waves are back and, according to Fadi Haddad, owner of Portside Wharf’s new hair salon Fadi’s Hair, movement is SO in.

The renowned stylist has recently relocated from James Street in Fortitude Valley to the swanky waterfront retail and residential development at Hamilton to be closer to his target demographic and be part of the growth of his new local area.

In celebrating his move Fadi has shared his low-down on the latest hair trends and recommends we throw away our straighteners (gasp) and befriend our curling tongs to create movement and volume for our luscious locks in the coming season. Oh, and my fellow blondies, there is good news for us!

Fadi suggests that the latest in hair styling is inspired by current fashion trends that have a strong emphasis on texture, achieved in the fashion world by using shiny materials, feathered fabrications and statement lace.

In a statement he said, ‘this season’s hair, like clothes, is about elegance and movement and the style cuts are what relates to this season by heaving length in the front for soft movement in the hair.

‘It’s also about beautiful styling – wearing soft curls or sleek hair with a defined lower part and also braiding with loose weaving of the hair to create texture and softness,’ he said.

Fadi also said blonde is making a comeback, replacing the balayage trend that is now oh-so 2013.

‘The blondes of this season are not fake… they are what I call ‘edible blondes’ like crème caramel, honeycomb and champagne.’

‘It’s also about mixing these colours and integrating different tones to create depth of colour,’ he said.

They’re some trends that I’ll be converting to for sure! Bring on natural waves and loose braids any day!
