Day Four Guide: MBFF Brisbane

Hello my fabulous friends! We’re bringing you day four of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane and things are getting gorgeous over here!  I hope you’ve all been busy buying tickets and organising your diaries for this week of fashion fun.  Remember you can buy tickets here at or through QTIX.

Tonight is all about the runway shows and our amazingly talented designers. The Fashion Bar and Epicure VIP Runway Lounge are doing their thing for your pre and post show drinks but lets get into the meat of this evening, get your heels and lippy on and lets runway!

Starting the night off at 6.30 in the, again beautiful, Brisbane City Hall Auditorium is the Brisbane Arcade group show.  Quick history lesson; Brisbane Arcade was commissioned by Dr James Mayne and designed by Richard Gailey (Jr) in 1923 and heritage listed in 1992.  It is a building rich in history and luxury which over the past 90 years has housed some of the most exclusive and beautiful stores in Brisbane.  Over its three levels you’ll find some of your favourite designers as well as stores with antiques and rarities and, my personal favourite of Brisbane’s cafes, Room with Roses.  The Brisbane Arcade group runway show will showcase designer retailers like Maiocchi, Tengdahl, The Hat Box, Pia du Pradal, Bora, and Darb Couture.

MBFF is a great reminder of just how lucky we are in Brisbane, not only do we have extremely talented designers but also amazing retailers who stock the best Australia has to offer. And with spring racing just around the corner I don’t think I have to remind you how important retailers like The Hat Box are to have right at your door step!

After a short break the runway will be reset for the 8pm, Mercedes Benz group show featuring collections from Adorne Fashion Accessories, Lalabazaar, Surafina, White Label Noba, Katelyn Aslett, Sacha Drake, Pure Moda, DA by Daniel Alexander, and Dmoore.

Now if you’re anything like me and have been stalking these designers’ websites since they were announced you’ll be pretty excited for what you’re going to see here. Between the bright, floaty romance of Katelyn Aslett, colourful comfort of Maiocchi and the mystery new collection from Daniel Alexander, I’ll tell you right now; the summer season is going to be amazing!

On that note, I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that the most unique thing about the MBFF Brisbane is that the designs you see on the catwalk shows are dropping in stores at the same time! So while you’re getting excited for all the fabulous shows make sure you’re taking note of who’s showing when so you can choose your favourites and get your shop on!
