As you take the first sip of your morning latte I bet you didn’t realise the beans you’re drinking are meticulously sorted, separating the cream of the coffee crop from the screws, bolts and bullets – literally. Or did you think that the coffee you’re swilling was sourced from exotic places around the world? There’s a lot of work that goes into one humble (yet delicious) cup of Java. And thanks to Di Bella Coffee I now know a bit more.
As a self-confessed caffeine addict I was tha-rilled to join Brisbane’s best food bloggers to get a peek at the inner workings of the Di Bella Coffee Warehouse. Teaming up with Eat Brisbane and paleo pundits The Primal Pantry, this local coffee roaster put on an event that was more than a pleasure to attend. Golden shots of liquid goodness (coffee), a delicious two course paleo meal – including Maple Glazed Lamb (YUM!) – it was all Brisbane’s insta-snap-happy foodies could’ve wished for.
The stellar part of the night was seeing Di Bella’s “Crop to Cup” ethos play out. From the traditional espresso methods to the alternative brewing techniques – like the Chemex filter brew (which was super cool!), each cup I tried was made expertly with a delicious coffee blend.
A fine cup of Joe and fabulous food – who could ask for a better way to spend a Wednesday night.
