Locals will have an alternative new shopping precinct with an exciting retail mix that we believe will make Coorparoo Square a unique destination in its own right,” Peter Honeycombe, Managing Director of Honeycombes Property Group.
The suburb of Coorparoo, the hub of the south/east side will soon be welcoming a new kid on the block… known around town as the much anticipated ‘Coorparoo Square.’ Set to be the next ‘Portside Warf’ precinct, it will hold some major tenants such as the boutique national cinema chain, Dendy Cinemas, Global supermarket chain, Aldi and three residential buildings with 360 luxury apartments offering one, two and three-bedroom apartments as well as lavish penthouses.
Leading developers Australand and Honeycombes Property Group are merging to deliver to the local community a new level of retail, dining and entertainment to the area.
As a suburb that continues to experience residential growth and serves as an existing entertainment hub for the surrounding areas, Coorparoo was a natural choice for us to complement the Dendy Portside cinemas at Hamilton” Greg Hughes – Dendy CEO.
The 10-theatre complex is set to attract commuters from around Brisbane to the iconic square where many would remember the first Myer Center in Queensland was once housed. Dendy has committed to a 15-year lease with the new project.
After the transformation is well underway on revitalizing the precinct into a vibrant urban centre we always knew it could be. Now, if the luxury apartments, boutique cinema complex and value for money grocer are not your thangs… do not stress. Restaurants, cafés and fashion retailers (which cannot yet be revealed) will fill the square. The Coorparoo Square will have something for everyone, there is no age group – Old Cleveland Road will never be the same.
Just because at BT, we are movie fiend’s, let’s dive into the Dendy extravaganza a bit more. The company’s second location in Brisbane will include: seven standard screens and three Dendy Premium Lounge screens which incorporate the tasty ingredients of fully reclining luxury leather seating and a pre-screening premium dining and bar lounge.
It will be a great recreational option for all ages and is a win for the entire inner East precinct…a cinema complex is the cornerstone to any such precinct” Peter Honeycombe.
Development approval for Coorparoo Square was granted in October 2014 and the long but so worth it process has caught the eye of popular retailers and major leasing giants. 660 car spaces should help for commuters coming from the north side (we know we will). For the eye’s of potential residents, they will have exclusive access to a tennis court, two large swimming pools, large recreation areas and green space.
And because BT stands up…stands up for all rights and freedom of food, let’s dive into Aldi. For those of you who haven’t ventured into the global supermarket, you should have! The grocer also stands with us for food – and exemplifies value for money. This will benefit the 700-plus Coorparoo Square residents but also the wider Coorparoo community. Hit it up if you are wanting quality, taste and value for your loose chain.
Set to become a ‘home’ by 2017, go check it out if this is sounding like your kind of lifestyle hub, home or hang out for the years to come.
