Beauty Tuesday: How To Wear a Red Lip

Hi beauties! Today for Beauty Tuesday we’ve got a guest post from the lovely Stephie from The Raw Edit. She’s a poodle obsessed, fashion lover and most importantly, queen of beauty tips, tricks and products. She’s stopped by BTHQ this week to share her tip on how to wear a rep lip, the bold beauty statement for the party season ahead.

So without further ado, I’ll hand the reigns over to her for today!
Hi BT ladies! I’m so happy to be hanging out here today to share my tips and tricks on how to wear a red lip, one of my favourite makeup trends of the holiday season.
So here we go! Start by applying your lipstick to the cupids bow and make sure you’re precise when applying, as you want to define your lips and give them a nice shape. Personally, I like to use a lip brush to apply my lipsticks with. I am using one of my all-time favorite reds – MAC Russian Red with MAC Beet liner. They’re such a classic and give a great bold colour.
I then fill in the rest of my lips and apply a lip liner. You can apply your liner before you apply your lipstick and I actually do both, but I find it easier to define and create a nice shape by applying the liner after.

If you make any mistakes or your lines are just a bit uneven you can take a cotton tip and sharpen the edges. If you are like me and sometimes get a bit of lipstick around your mouth from fiddling too much, you can use the other end of your cotton tip and dip it into your foundation and fix up any uneven skin tones around the mouth.

Lastly, I like use NYX Wonder Pencil in Light to the top of the cupids bow to act like a highlight and make those red lips really pop. Also, I feel like this makes my lips look slightly fuller and more kissable (which is never a bad thing, right?!).

Voila! Now you’re ready to rock that statement lip.

Xo Stephie
