AW Eyewear Trends To Covet

Eyewear trends aren’t normally a fashion topic up for discussion, yet so many of you (and a lot of our team too!), wear glasses daily. Whether you are in the market for a new pair of specs, or you have to get your first pair, we want to help you see better, and look a little funky at the same time.

So, we have teamed up with the fab people at VisionDirect to bring you four autumn/winter eyewear trends inspired by the international fashion catwalks that you should keep in mind when choosing your next pair of glasses.

Black Is In

Ideal for this time of the year as the weather gets cooler and our wardrobes shift from colour to black and neutral tones, black is a key colour of the winter season. A couple brands such as Givenchy, Marc Jacobs and Moschino are particularly famous for their luxe, mysterious apparel designs, and their eyewear collections are no exception.

Rare gems and emblems have also become a popular trend and Dolce&Gabbana, Bvlgari and Versace are pushing this focus forward with embellished frames and fun detailing. A Dolce&Gabbana trademark is their flower details and intricate frame designs, while Bvlgari and Versace carefully select jewels and place them right onto the arms of the glasses. Perfect if you like to add some subtle bling to your look. AW Eyewear Trends | Brisbane ThreadsHavana Heaven

Havana coloured glasses are yet another autumn/winter 2016 eyewear trend that have made a big appearance in the fashion world this season (and they are normally quite popular year after year too!). Many brands are picking up this popular style and hue, but we find that Prada, Celine and Fendi do it best. Who can resist a havana and pink combination for something fun to get you through the colder months (see below right by Fendi), or if you prefer something more classic and understated, the black frames with a splash of havana (see Celine frames, below left) are the perfect choice!

If havana is not quite your thing, try some other stripe and spotted animal-inspired prints and interpret this trend to suit your own personal style. AW Eyewear Trends | Brisbane ThreadsOversized Luxe

Oversized glasses not only go great with a big comfy scarf, but they are also a major autumn/winter 2016 eyewear trend. Tom Ford has a wide variety of oversized glasses to add a nice touch of luxury to casual attire or perfect your chic look. As the old saying goes, the bigger, the better!
