99 Bikes Breaks Poverty Cycle

Last weekend we got to borrow one of the new Pedal bikes from 99 Bikes to play with for an impromptu photo shoot to support their latest campaign.

Riding tandem with Bikes 4 Life, 99 Bikes are collecting, packing and shipping unused bikes and sending them to underprivileged communities through two projects – one to benefit remote indigenous communities in Australia and the other to support poverty-stricken communities in Uganda.

Once received, the pre-loved bikes will become a crucial means of transport to access food, water, medical supplies, education, employment and shelter that can improve the standard of living and increase chances of survival for individuals and groups living in underprivileged, vulnerable and isolated communities.

Too reach their target of 300 bikes to fill two shipping containers in January 2015, your help is essential! 99 Bikes and Bikes 4 Life are on the hunt for adult bikes with all parts in safe, working order and tyres inflated with adequate tread. In other words, they want your pre-loved bikes!

Annnnnd, when you donate your old bike, you receive $150 off the purchase of any new Pedal bike from the new lifestyle range at 99 Bikes.

It’s a win-win!

You can donate your pre-loved bike at any 99 Bikes store in Australia throughout the months of November, December and January and snap up a funky new bike from $199 (usually $349+).

We’re crushing hard on this pastel-coloured, oh-so-perfect Pedal Uptown Cruiser! It’s the perfect addition to any summer picnic in the park!
